What Others Had to Say about Kalahari Hunting News...

| I've quite enjoyed Michael's story of the jackal hunt! Can recall the adrenaline rush - which I've probably shared with some of you previously - on the back of his late father-in-law's Land Cruiser, chasing wildly after a couple of kudus with a loose spare wheel hopping up and down at (my, 10? years of age) shoulder height. But what the heck, we were closing in for the kill, just to see the fence /kampdraad once again forcing us to first GO for the nearby gate before continuing the pursue. Can't remember if we killed any kudu that day, but I'll never forget the hunting fever/bokkoors getting the better of all the boys - big and small! Most of all, thanks for a wonderful testimony on fathership - that one hit me between the eyes, or rather - right through the heart! ~ Alwyn, Namibia |

| I was fortunate enough to be invited on a hunt to Uitspan Ranch in 2007. When I got back, I started to make arrangements to return in 2008, this time with my family. When we left Uitspan after our 2008 trip, my children asked why am I so quiet, and I realized it is not only because I dwell on the amazing time we had on the farm, but because I realize that it will now be another 12 months before the workload in my office will allow me to return. The only way I could explain this feeling to my children was to tell them how I felt as a schoolkid, when I had to go back to the hostel on a Sunday afternoon after a nice weekend at home. It goes without saying that we are already planning our hunting trip to Uitspan for 2009.

I eagerly look forward to the Kalahari Newsletter every few months. I particularly like the humor, the spirituality, and the information on hunts and animals it contains. The last Newsletter had a great and funny picture of Michael and that little lady; it was SO funny. Also I like how your young daughter is learning about the Kalahari and writing about it.
