The hunter has the right to be proud of the Gold Medal. A good story.

In the hunting world there are all manner of scoring systems. There is Safari Club International(SCI), Boone and Crockett in the USA, Pope and Young for Bow in the USA, Rowland and Ward in Africa, NAPHA in Namibia, etc. These scoring systems are a mark of respect for a good hunt, good guide, and good hunting area. The Gold Medals are a symbol of a well conducted hunt, not just killing animals which any man can do on a cull hunt. Cull hunts and hunting for vension are perfectly OK too because God put these beasts on the Earth for Man to have Dominion over. The point is that hunting ensures the survival of a healthy and genetically balanced herd. Especially in the USA where the herd healthy preditors have been eradicated.

Great Story! by: Anonymous
I think this story depicts what is possible in Africa. With the quantitiy of game on this Continent it is sometimes possible to take more than one animal a day. If the animals are Gold Medal; why not take them. The hunter may never get another chance. Especially if he does not return to the Dark Continent. MAKE HAY WHILE THE SUN SHINES.

I really liked the Afica feeling in this story but there is a lot more to it than just killing animals.I consider any animal I take a gold medal animal and I think GOD considers them as gold medals also.

I felt as if I were in Namibia myself as I read Steve's story. Very descriptive in all areas including scenary, land, animals and culture. I truly enjoyed the "Namibian Gold".

Wow! by: Gary Peter
It sounds like a combination of good hunting skills, good hunting grounds and a little good luck. All those trophy animals in such a short period of time is memorable indeed.

Largest Horns by: Carol Sligting
The picture and the story makes me want to go and see all the animals that are over there. The horns on the Kudu were impressive. The story was well written.
